Artist Statement
The pursuit of artistic creativity is a constant wonder to me. I discovered my artistic muse only recently and it came as quite a surprise because I have a degree in Chemistry and worked for many years writing air pollution regulations for the State of California. Becoming an artist is a daunting task for this logical chemist’s mind but the infinite combination of colors and geometric shapes has become my absolute passion. Abstraction of color, shape and line allows me to express things inside of me that do not have words. Solid color fabrics dominate my designs because of their simplicity and allow the interaction of colors to be more evident. This new journey has been fantastic, overwhelming, exciting, and sometimes discouraging – but always rewarding. I feel very fortunate to be able to pursue my passion and to share it with you.
